KATHMANDU, AUG 30 -
Three months after a major fire wreaked havoc in Thamel, the
Kantipath-based Jyoti Bhawan was the victim of an inferno on Friday
morning.
Much of the loss was prevented as the fire was doused in an hour by
fire brigades, Nepal police, Nepal Army and the Armed Police Force. Five
fire brigades were used to douse the inferno.
Meanwhile, security personnel rescued three office staffs from the building. No human casualties have been reported so far.
The building has Hero Honda showroom in the ground floor, Kantipath branch of Nepal Bank Limited and Grande Hospital clinic.
Transportation was affected in the area this morning due to the incident.
